Problems with Javascript Runtime

Both in Mozilla and IE-- webpages are coming up a bit garbled. I'm
getting hundreds of errors in my Javascript Console.

I checked my preferences in each browser and they have Javascript
Runtime enabled. It shouldn't be a firewall problem, because I haven't
changed any of my settings recently.

Installed the latest version of Runtime to no avail. The icon doesn't
even appear in the system tray anymore. What happened here?

    Thanks,

    David
