Problems opening Zipped files

  1. OS: Windows XP Home Editio

I have compressed a folder on my computer using the built in Compressor that comes with XP. Done this countless times before with no problems. I've come to open the folder and am getting an error "The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted" and I can't open it

Are there any utilities out there that I can download to recover at least some of the files inside? I can't believe that the entire contents is corrupted. Has anyone resolved this issue before?

    Thanks
