    Hi,
i am writting on behalf of a friend who is travelling in Indonesia for a
photo project. She is working with a Canon EOS-IDs camera which has the
    following problem:
Once a photo is taken, it does not appear on the LCD monitor which remains
black, and the history doesn't show as well. The process or saving the photo
on the disk does seem to work but the camera doesn't reproduce the image on
    the monitor.
    Any clue?
    Thanks in advance,
    M'

    My thinking exactly.

I think this is a user programmable setting. Probably turned off somehow.

I can't believe someone with a 1Ds couldn't work this out for themselves...
