I am getting this message when I boot my pix with or without a
    configuration.

    Cryptochecksum(unchanged): dc0a34f5 ccde0107 c4f0182c fce9f7d4
Type help or '?' for a list of available commands.
    testpix>
    Cannot select private key

Can anyone tell me what this means? This is a 501 PIX and I am
applying a config from a 515 just to test using the commands and such.

    thanks

I would guess that you do not have an RSA key. To verify:

    show ca mypubkey rsa

    Thanks Rik

I did that and I get a message back showing my General Purpose Key.
THis pix is not live and not plugged into the network at all. When I
do the same command on one that is on the network I get both a General
    and an Encryption Key.

Does my problem have something to do with the fact that this is not
    plugged into the network???

    thanks

    To generate key:

    ca gen rsa key 1024
    ca save all

Reload to see if message goes away.
