Print spooler error

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by =?Utf-8?B?U2hlcmlkYW5X?=, May 24, 2006.

  1. I've just installed a new Epson R800 printer and installed Epson's 64-bit
driver and I get an error from "Thunking spooler APIS" and no printout.
    According to Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902066
I need version 5.2.3790.2463 of splwow64.exe for WIndows XP Pro x64 edition.
    Can anyone help?

  2. You MUST call MS Support. That's how hot fixes work.

  3. Dear Charlie,
I called them but the girl didn't seem to understand the problem. Are you
saying that I'll have to pay £199 to get a bug fix?

  5. If the customer support technician decided the hotfix will cure your
problem, you will NOT be charged. The link for the hotfix will be emailed
    to you.

  6. If it's a bug fix, you shouldn't be charged, ultimately. As I said in the
other thread, you may have to agree to pay, but the actual engineer should
be able to make it available to you without charge, since it's a bug fix.
But there is no other way to get a hot fix.

  7. Hello ,
Correct, You should not be charged to request a hotfix.
Refer to the article number, tell the person you are simply requesting a
    hotfix, not a support case.
If they still want to charge you ask to speak to someone else.
    Thanks,
    Darrell Gorter[MSFT]
