Porting VB 6 Applications from 32 Bit to 64 Bit

Discussion in 'Windows 64bit' started by =?Utf-8?B?cm9oaXQ=?=, Nov 10, 2005.

  1. I read a lot of things about migrating 32-bit apps to 64-bit apps but I'm
actually interested in compiling 32-bit VB6 applications on a Windows 64
platform and the binaries to work on 32-bit client machines. In other words
is it possible to compile 32-bit applications as 100% 32-bit applications on
a 64-bit platform? Has anybody done that before? Any suggestions?

    Thanks in Advance.

  2. Hi,

VB6 only supports 32 bit. You should not have any problems.

  3. Yep, you target 32-bit systems by compiling such code using VB 6 on Windows
    x64.
