I’m looking to enable policy based routing (PBR) on our 6500 and am just looking for some advice and resources on how to go about it.

Scenario is we have some priority users that need access to an external vendor before all other users. We’ve established that the best was to do this is with a specific firewall for these users. Our intent is to set up a priority user VLAN and Route any traffic directed to that vendor to the priority user Firewall instead of the normal one.

I’m curious how enabling PBR on the router will affect routing for the other VLAN’s and if there are any other factors I should consider.

Any config examples and set up documents would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
