I know zip about PS2 but a guy I work with needs help. He has had a dial
up modem and has a kid who wants to play on-line. It's too slow with a
dialup. He is now getting a cable modem connection to his computer in
one room, but doesn't want the kid in there all the time. He thinks the
PS2 was connected to the modem without the computer, but since I don't
know how it works, please forgive the ignorance. He would like to run a
phone cord or something to the other room and connect the PlayStation to
the network in this manner. Is this at all feasible or does he need to
create a LAN and install another computer in the second bedroom?? Can
the Playstation2 connect to a remote location without the benefit of a
    computer interface?

    Try
    alt.games.video.sony-playstation :
find out how everybody else is doing it from them. I didn't even know you
could use a dsl on a playstation.
