    Hello
I am hoping that someone can help me a little.
I know this may be a tall order but here goes.
I have new cisco 501 pix that I bought to learn with. I want to use it
with my home dsl for a while. I have dsl with a modem in bridge mode.
I have accessed the cisco via the pdm software and console. I setup the
cisco with pppoe and successfully obtained a wan ip on the pix unit.
I also have dhcp setup and my pcs are getting an inside address and dns
from the pix unit. For some reason I still cannot ping past the pix
unit. I know that some packets are getting out because when I ping a
dns name it will resolve but no packets are returned.
I was hoping to get a little guidance on this.
    Thanks

Actually,I have it working with the config I posted below. Now I have
two questions. I need to forward a specific port to 192.168.1.23. How
do I do that and please look at this config and let me know if it is
    setup correctly.

    Thanks in advance!

    Two methods are explained here:
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/707/28.html#topic7. I use the first
method. Others have posted configs using the second. I'm not sure if one
    is better than the other.

I am not very familiar with that syntax. However, I don't see your public
IP address. You need to replace "tcp interface" with the public IP assigned
    to you by your ISP.

A simpler approach might be similar to the below:

    static (inside,outside) a.b.c.d w.x.y.z

conduit permit tcp host a.b.c.d eq www any

Replace abcd with public IP and replace wxyz with LAN IP.

Thanks Jonathan I will try that. I do not have a static public IP
address. I am using dyndns for dynamic resolution. Using your method
what can I replace the abcd with to allow dynamic public ips on that
    interface?

Hmmmm... That I don't know. Hopefully, one of the super posters in this
    group can tell you.
