I just wanted to know how the marking is worked out, if there is 50 questions
how many questions themselfs do you have to get right to pass?

Also how do I get into the MCP member site? Do I have to wait for an email?
As it's been a good 30 hours now since I passed.

  2. Hi Chris,

Congratulations on your first pass! Doesn't it just feel great?

To get into the Microsoft Certified Professionals page you have to wait for
an e-mail with the instructions. It can take anywhere from 2 days to a week
to receive, depending on your testing centre.

As for the passing grade, this is the way that the exams work: On every
exam Microsoft offers the passing grade is 700. However that does not mean
that the score is 70%, and there is no way to actually know how many
questions you have to get right in order to pass. What I can tell you is
that even the people who create the exam for Microsoft will never know, so
don't worry if you don't. If you passed, you passed - whether it is with a
    700 or a 955!

  4. Hey Chris,

That's great! As a matter of fact that is what I am studying for now... I
hope to take the exam for 271 Monday or Tuesday, and if all goes well 272 on
    Thursday, schedule permitting.

It always feels great to pass an exam, but there are three special ones:
Your first is always memorable; any exam that gets you a new certification is
always a great feeling. The third category? The REALLY tough ones... I have
a friend who I consider to be much smarter than me, and he took a few goes to
pass one exam, and everyone said it was a killer. When the screen flashed
the PASS screen, I was elated! (Enough so that I wrote a blog post about it
    anyways)

Good luck with 271 and let us know how it goes!
