    The Paradise/Clear news server seems to have de-peered
    itself from the rest of Usenet at around 2am Monday 24th.

    It is now an isolated island, unconnected to the rest of usenet
    (again).

    Thanks, I wondered what was happening.

    I have also been trying to ftp updates to my web pages and the ftp
    server seems to be rejecting logons as well. About one attempt in 20
    seems to work.

    This is the ticket number all affected users should quote then for a quick
    resolution.
    Is that a correct statement?
    You should be able to use the online method and not have to phone them;
    yeah, we all know it takes at least two emails...
    I suggest putting the ticket number in the subject line and keep it polite
    and simple.
