you already probably saw this one today. sucks, big time! i know a lot of
    guys working for Sun. :-(

that's gonna be 3,500 more guys applying for those limited IT jobs out there
    in the near future.

man, i got to get into home renovation. this handy man lives across the
street from me. the fuggin' guy has a bigger house, better car than me and
walks around in dirty overall's and car grease all over himself, from head to
    toe.

wtf - is wrong with this picture?

Maybe between this an Gateway closing all of their stores (3000 jobs cut)
congress will finally start extending unemployment benefits again.

I would assume 'broad-based cost-cutting plan' means that most of the
jobs will be middle management & admin type jobs. Nevertheless, it's
bad news for those people affected.

I expect he pays less tax too.

Duuno how it is in Canada, but when the U.S. housing bubble bursts those
guys will be in a world of hurt as well. The only safe ones will be the
guys who do the $100,000 all-stainless-and-granite kitchens that get used
once a week for making tea.

You are assuming that that is 3,300 technical jobs. I highly doubt that.

No way, Shrub is claiming Unemployment is down. If they extend UI, it
    will skyrocket.

Don't expect squat until after the election, if then. Go to work as a
part-time burger flipper. You'll help the figures go down more.

After the election, watch them take the lid off interest rates. Housing
    will screech to a halt.

hey, the guys working for Sun have already had their time with stocks and
shares. At least they don't go empty hands. And I don't like guys working
for Sun because they once told me that I am working with low-end products
    (Windows).:)

the problem is that everyone assumes that they are techincal jobs. i would
guess manufacturing and middle management, as well as phone support.
besides, even if they were technical, these would be people into unix,
linux, etc, not mcse's, so don't get yer panties all bunched up.

very true. but those unix guys might get MCSE education while on UI and
start applying for same jobs as me. then again, maybe not.

oh, i don't know, the stress of working in IT. i can't take it anymore.
