Anyone else have this problem, or maybe it's at my local Telecom exchange ?

Thought I'd post this here since it's out of Orcon's operating hours.

Nope, it's not the local exchange as such, I checked an xtra Jetstream
    account which is working fine.

Couple of days ago, then again last night. Internet out for several hours.

So much for internet being available 24/7.

Had the same problem myself. No mention of it on orcon's web site, which I
think is pretty fucking slack. We are then left with only speculation, and
    that is irksome.

Ihug always do have an up to date status page, I never though to check,
would be a good indicator if it is local to the ISP or more widespread,
    as it appeared to be.

I've been seeing this behaviour since the upgrade to UBS, usually the
outages are only for 5 mins or so. Last night was from just before
11.00pm until after 6.00am. I'd probably see an outage every couple of
    days on average.

This is starting to make UBS pretty well useless - it stuffs up
recording streams and downloading isos nicely.

Tail end off the router log (there were so many events the time the
outage began has dropped off the log).

Nice to know it isn't just my setup,

    cheers

Or a call to a cell phone. I don't think the help desk is open in the
    weekends any more ?

But the really funny thing is that I went on to dial up and sent support
an email and got the automated message back, which, after going through
their SPAM filters, was tagged as SPAM.

All they are doing is allowing some other ISP to become the the preferred
    one.
