I've got a fistfull of CD's someone gave me with Operating System
CD Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP1a.
Only for distribution with an HP or CompaqPC.
Are these useable on other computers or just those specified on
    the CD?
The CD's are unopened with stickers on the back with a six number
group, a - and a three letter group.
I also have some HP Notebook Driver Recovery CD's that say
Microsoft Windows XP, Contains software and drivers for system
    resore.
Are they useable on other computers?

Cant hurt to try, I have one from an hp laptop that installs on
everything and doesnt even ask for a key, and will happily pass all the
    genuine advantage stuff.

They mightbe if they are the full software, and not a recovery CD.
