Sending a petition to Telecom is pointless.

You should send the petition to the government, because it is the NZ
government that is sitting on its hands and continuing to sanction
    a monopoly.

Someone needs to learn how to construe an effective petition!
It is ironic that the petitioners are displaying the same sort
of incompetence as the NZ government.

In fact, if it were to have any real impact, it should become a
submission to the Commerce Commission relating to Local Loop Unbundling.
Submissions close later this month. Details on the Commerce Commission
    website at
    www.comcom.govt.nz/telecommunications/localloop.cfm

There are ways to bring change in this arena - this is not an effective one.

Australia used to have the same problems as outlined in your petition... it
    doesn't anymore.
