No onboard sound with MSI mobo

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by TJ Sackville-West, Mar 2, 2005.

  1. I downloaded the latest VIA audio 97 driver from MSI for their KM4M-V
board but error msg on Media Players shows no hardware found - or some
    other device using driver.

There's a Conexant audio modem. This works OK for dial up internet,
but did not work with audio output before I downloaded the VIA driver.
It still doesn't work for audio output after the new driver install.

Any ideas please on what to disconnect or disable to get the audio
    working?

    Thanks

    TJ

Assuming your mobo has on board sound, have you enabled it in the BIOS?
    Did your sound ever work?

BIOS enabled on 'auto'. Sound never worked.
