Not really - those are crap statistics from just one source.
You need to take averages over many and you will find
Linux usage is going up all the time.

    Users say - Pista sucks.

    Vista / Pista who cares?

Welcome to the Windopz De-Pistification FAQette.

WoW that was a mouthful wasn't it boys and girls?!

    Have you De-Pistified your PC?

    Let me explain:

You bought vista crap from our sponsor micoshaft corporation
and you realize after hours of reboots and re-installs
that our sponsor micoshaft has taken the piss out of you. So you
decide that this vista Pista is not for you.
Now you want to de-install Pista but expee takes up even
more hours and all your driver
diskettes are mislaid/lost and application cds are fscked
because your dog has been shagging it for some time, etc, etc, etc.
Oh Smuck is me you cry out in vain as your PC craps out on you
leaving you with nothing despite you having paid truck loads of money.

Then light at the end of the tunnel appears in the form
of Linux. Now you get angry and use Linux in anger to recover
you data. RAAAAARRRrrrr... you growl through into the night
recovering data, learning GNU/Linux and by midnight all your
work is done, your computers are working, you learned many
things and Linux with Beryl is the king. You can sleep in peace
knowing Linux is your friend and share your dreams
    with others...

     Get Linux here...
     http://www.livecdlist.com
     http://www.distrowatch.com

     For Beryl, downloaded latest release
     of Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn)...

Install Beryl using the guide from here...
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,130923-page,1-c,linux/article.html

And so WoW, after a few cut and paste operations
you have Beryl up and running on your PC!!!

All that remains is now for you to stick the De-Pistification
Inventory label on your PC to complete the job...

Oh no, Seven is back and will be implementing the seven sins of Seven.

We'll start with Seven's sin #1 the cross posting sin.

And we'll watch Seven's sinful progression. It's very sinful.

The URL given seems to be IE vs. Firefox as read by websites, rather
    than O/S vs. O/s.

Just how do you figure out how many people are running Linux? A few
pay for a commercial package with support. (e.g. Redhat) or buy a
computer with some version of Linux installed. But many just download
an ISO and burn an installation CD/DVD. (Unbuntu sends out free
installation CD's and there are or used to be many people who wwould
distribute cheap CD's - they've undoubtedly been hurt by the surge of
    broadband)

There are undoubtedly countries where most Windows installations are
pirated but it is still probably easier to estimate Windows usage.

Actually, apart from new pre-installed Windows systems, I would bet my
bottom dollar that 90% or more of those using Windows are using pirated
    versions.

Therefore there is no way to be sure what the market share of Windows
    is either.
