It might be helpful to let them know.

If Mike see's 721 messages then it will be/might be a "news reader"
    issue.

Ho, ho! A quick snipe at oe? ;-)
Same thing work or home. I was trying news.individaul.net so that I can
post/lurk through the same server wherever I was. The problem doesen't seem
to extend to this ng though.
nanae can get a bit frisky - content filtering?

Is 721 messages a 'normal' average for this time of day in nanae?
If so, then it's *not* news.individual.net, since that's how many
show up on their server - when I counted, over half an hour ago.

Sorry, Mike, don't know how to count individual messages without using all
my fingers an toes many time over!
But individual.net is stuffed full of "Re:.." from old ops and ntl has many
newer opsat the top of the page. Maybe individual.net have chopped the
    retention on nanae.

My mail client tells me how many messages I have.

Anyway, on my server, and on news.individual.net, the last 10
original posts, from a download of 300 headers, are identical:

I just had a look (using OE6, on individual.net). Seems 'normal' to
me.... last messages a few minutes old, and the first 1,000 downloaded
dating back 26 hours or so. It also shows 102,000 available for
download; so I don't see retention being the problem.
Maybe try to 'reset' the group. Right-click the group's folder (on
the folder list); Properties > Local File > Reset.

Thanks, Trout. Tried that and still get a different list between ntl and
individual. I've used Boomers url and had a real body responce.
By the way, the same thing was happening at work between individual and
    pipex.
