newbie settings help

Discussion in 'Digital Photography' started by Richard Wakely, Aug 31, 2003.

  1. Hi,
I purchased the Olympus C5050 zoom to replace my older Kodak DX4600 and,
obviously, have gone from making no setting changes to many. I wish to take
general photographs, etc. but mainly of our new grandson. From reading the
posts to this forum I have tried various settings suggested there and all
have helped a bit - I end up taking many pics that are good but still a high
number that are out of focus, etc.
I have tried auto focus on and off: general settings, aperture priority and
shutter priority. Have even tried the "action" setting since he is walking
    now and moves quickly.
The auto settings do not seem to give consistent results and was hoping some
help here would set me straight.
    Thanks in advance
    Rick
