New Releases: Lst Samurai, Smallville & Cheaper By The Dozen: Updated complete R1 DVD DB & info list

    Warner Brothers has announced the release of Last Samurai, slated for May
    5th. This critically acclaimed film staring Tom Cruise will be available in
    both P&S and anamorphic 2.40:1 video. Both versions will have Dolby 5.1
    audio and retail for $29.95. Announced extras included:

    Fans of the Warner Brothers syndicated television show, Smallville can look
    forward to the release of the complete second season on May 25th. The specs
    are Dolby surround and 1.77:1 video listing for $59.98. The extras where
    listed as including :
    deleted scenes
    audio commentary on select episodes,
    behind-the-scenes featurettes,
    The Chloe Chronicles,
    Faster Than a Speeding Bullet: The Visual FX of Smallville
    Christopher Reeve: Man of Steel
    gag reel.

    Paramount has Timeline (2003) scheduled for release on April 13th. Once
    again there will be separate P&S and anamorphic widescreen releases. Both
    will have Dolby 5.1 audio and list for $29.99. The initial announcement from
    the studio did not list any extras but stated that they will be announced
    shortly.

    Fox has announced the release of of Cheaper By The Dozen staring Steve
    Martin, Bonnie Hunt and Hillary Duff on April 6th. The release will contain
    both P&S and anamorphic video and Dolby 5.1 audio. Listing for $29.99 the
    extras will contain:
    Director Commentary by Shawn Leavy
    Actor Commentary by the Baker Kids
    Director's Viewfinder: Creating a Fictional Family - Featurette
    Inside Look Garfield
    Trailer
    6 Deleted Scenes with Director's Commentary

    Also announced by Fox are Peyton Place (1957) on March 3rd for $14.98 and
    Independence Day (Limited Edition) on May 11th listing for $19.98. The
    extras for this release of ID4 include

    Special Edition Independence Day With 9 Minutes of Restored Footage
    Original Theatrical Version
    Scene-Specific Commentary by Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin

    May 11th will bring from PBS something for those interested in World War II.
    They have several documentaries including:
