The new week starts off with some announcements from Warner Brothers. On
December 9th they have something for the younger children in your home.

audiences January 6th brings some classic films. One of the screen's first
looks at alcoholism, Days Of Wine & Roses featuring an acclaimed performance
by Jack Lemmon, released in widescreen. Both the 1932 (uncut) and 1941
(remake) versions of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde will be released in with both
films on a single disc. Warner Brothers already has the 1981 version of
Postman Always Rings Twice out on January 6th it is joined with the classic
1946 original. The film that helped to make spring break a rite of passage,
Where The Boys Are will be released in widescreen. Also set for a widescreen

Hedberg: Mitch All Together on November 11th. They now have their own UPC

Some status changes have been announced by the studios. Although known by
many since last week the official word has come down late last week from
Universal that the first season of Dragnet 2003 has been cancelled. Fox has
cancelled the 1944 Laura (Special Edition) originally set for release on
November 4th. Koch has cancelled the four discs that were part of their Best
Of The Improv formerly set for release on November 12th. On the discontinued
list Anchor Bay has Supergirl (Limited 2-Disc Special Edition), Supergirl
(Special Edition), I Saw What You Did, Brenda Starr, Cat From Outer Space,
Repo Man (Special Edition) and several more. With the new special edition
coming out Artisan has discontinued the previous release of On Golden Pond.
Buena Vista has pulled 101 Dalmatians (1961). Columbia/TriStar has confirmed
Das Boot (Special Edition/ a.k.a. The Boat), Memento (UPC 043396065987),
Snatch (2-Disc Special Edition), Knight's Tale (Special Edition) as well as
several of their multiple film sets. As with all discontinued titles they
may have been off the shelves for awhile. The studios are a bit slow with
making these changes 'official'. Other versions may be in the process of
being released as replacements. Please check the Rescheduled list for such
    new releases.
