Blue Underground is planning on releasing Final Countdown on March 30th. I
have it on good authority that this is a completely remastered audio and
video presentation and that it is greatly improved over the previous Pacific
Family release. Judging by other releases from Blue Underground this seems a
safe bet. There will be three versions released, a P&S, anamorphic
widescreen and a deluxe 2 disc box set. The regular releases will be $19.95
each while the deluxe will list at $29.95. All are announced as having Dolby
5.1 EX and DTS ES THX sound tracks. All will also have a commentary track
with director of photography Victor J. Kemper. The deluxe set also lists
Interview with associate producer Lloyd Kaufman; Interviews with The Jolly
Rogers F-14 Fighter Squadron; Poster & still galleries as part of the
    limited, 100,000 unit run.

Two studios have competing Pilates discs set for release on January 20th.
Goldhil Home entertainment has Romana's Pilates (4-Disc Box Set), Romana's
Pilates: Introduction To Pilates Matwork and Romana's Pilates: Mat Challenge
Workout. Tapeworm has on the same date Classical Pilates Technique: 3rd Ed
and Classical Pilates Technique: Magic Circle Mat.

Brian Wilson: Live At The Roxy Theatre will be released on January 13th by
Warner Music. The disc features Dolby 5.1 audio and lists for $18.95.

    T. S. Elliot once wrote "there are decisions and revisions that a moment
will reverse". This line seems to apply to the Universal release of
Schindler's List. It's back on for March 3rd. There will be three releases,
P&S, anamorphic widescreen and a deluxe gift box. The regular editions will
list for $26.98 while the box set will run $79.99. The box set is slated to
include a coffee table box as part of the package. The audio is scheduled to
include both Dolby 5.1 and DTS sound tracks.

Fox has a few releases set that may interest some out there. The 1938 cult
classic, Reefer Madness will be released on April 4th. This release looks
like it is far beyond the currently available Madacy release. It has both a
colorized version as well as a newly remastered original black and white
version. The soundtracks include the original mono (remastered), Dolby 5.1
and DTS and a two channel surround track. Extras are listed as Audio
Commentary by Mike Nelson of "Mystery Science Theater 3000"; Audio
commentary by the Legend Films Color design team; Short Film - "Grandpra's
Marijuana Handbook". The list price for all of this is $14.98.

Fans of Raquel Welch can look forward to the upcoming releases from Fox.
They have Bandolero!, Mother, Jugs And Speed, Myra Breckenridge (1970) and
One Million Years B.C. for release on March 9th. Each is listed as having
stereo audio and letterbox video. No confirmation yet as to whether they
will be anamorphic. Each will list for $14.98. As an alternative you can opt
for Raquel Welch Collection: One Million Years B.C. / Bandolero! / Myra
Breckinridge / Mother, Jugs, and Speed / Fathom, also releasing on March 9th
    for $49.98.

March 16th will see the release of Commitments (2-Disc Collector's Edition)
by Fox. The initial technical specs show Dolby 5.1 audio and widescreen
video, again, awaiting confirmation as to whether it's anamorphic. The list
price was given as $26.98. The announced extras are; Optional Commentary by
Alan Parker; The Making of The Commitments (22 min); The Commitments -
Looking Back (45 min); Dublin Soul - The working class & changing face of
Dublin (15:13 min); Making-of featurette (8:10 min); "Treat Her Right" -
Music Video w/ intro by Alan Parker & Robert Arkins (5:42 min); Theatrical
Trailer; 6 TV Spots; 4 Radio Spots.

Rounding off this set of Fox releases is Hangman's Curse (2003) due out on
March 30th for $24.98. Listed in the initial announcement was 1.78:1 video
and Dolby 5.1 audio. The extras was given as Featurette - "Frank Peretti:
From Page To Screen" 10:37; Featurette - "The Spider Wrangler: The Spiders
    of Hangman's Curse" 9:00.

For the younger set Sony has Sesame Street: Big Bird In China and Sesame
Street: Big Bird In Japan due out on February 10th.

For anime collectors Central Park has Arcade Gamer Fubuki, Birdy The Mighty:
Double Trouble, Cyber City: Time Bomb, Private Psycho Lesson and Zero Woman:
Dangerous Game all set for March 9th.

Water Bearer Films has set for February 24th Abigail's Party (1977), Grown
Ups (1980), Hard Labour (1973) and Mike Leigh Collection #1 (3-Disc Set):
Abigail's Party / Grown Ups / Hard Labour.
