New Releases: Brooklyn South, JFK, anime: Updated complete downloadable R1 DVD DB & info lists

    The slow announcement week continues. Looks like the studio reps are still
    recovering from their recent long weekend. Some anime from Pioneer are
    coming up. September 16th: Geneshaft #3: Orbit. November 4th: Mamoru Oshii's
    The Red Spectacles, Mamoru Oshii's Talking Head, Infinite Ryvius #2: Vital
    Guarder, Mamoru Oshii: Cinema Trilogy Collection, Mamoru Oshii's Stray Dogs,
    s-CRY-ed #3: The Other Side. November 18th: Geneshaft #4: Mobius, hack//SIGN
    5: Uncovered, Future GPX Cyberformula: Complete Collection. November 25th:
    L/R Mission File 1: Deceptions, X #8: Eight The Final Dramatic Chapter Of
    The X Saga, L/R Mission File 1: Deceptions (Limited Edition Collector's
    Box). And on December 2nd: Argentosoma #6: Annihilation and Kikaider #3:
    Unveiled Past. Typical of this studio most are presented in the original
    language with English subtitles and will go for $29.98.

    On November 11th Warner Brothers will re-release JFK (Special Edition /
    2-Disc Set). The UPC for this release is 085392863129 and it replaces the
    discontinued version JFK (Director's Cut/ Special Edition/ Old Version)
    085391853428.

    On October 28th A&E will release the short lived police drama Brooklyn
    South: The Complete Series (Special Edition) for a list price of $99.98. The
    set includes all 22 episodes of the series and the stated extras include
    Commentary with Co-Creator David Milch on the Pilot Episode; Cast and Crew
    biographies; Police "Ten Codes".

    Ventura has made a few announcements for the coming months. On December 30th
    Wiseguy: Season One (Part Two) hits the streets. The initial announcement
    indicates full screen and two channel mono for $69.99.

    Ventura has set for October 7th Hunting For Bambi (Collector's Edition)
    recently on the news. On October 14th there are Backyard Babes 3: 100% Buck
    Wild, Backyard Wrestling - Superstar Series #1: A Passion For Pain, Backyard
    Wrestling Vol. 1 & 2 (2-Pack) and Backyard Wrestling: Vol. 3 & 4 (2-Pack).
    Following on October 28th What Were They Thinking?. They have also confirmed
    that Jerry Springer: Too Hot For TV has been discontinued and Biohazard
    (Special Edition) is now cancelled.

    November 11th has Universal releasing the first season of the modernized
    version of Dragnet. Staring Ed O'Neil of Married with Children fame the set
    will run $39.98.

    Columbia/TriStar has November 11th targeted for the release of Amateur, No
    Good Deed, Silencers (the Matt Helm spy spoof), Trouble With Angels and
    Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows. For the younger kids November 25th has
    Berenstain Bears: Fun Lessons To Learn and Berenstain Bears, The: Fun And
    Adventure For Everyone. It also looks like Columbia will cancel Maid In
    Manhattan / Wedding Planner.

    Passport Video is releasing on October 21th Kiss: The Lost Concert, Abbott
    And Costello Collection, Three Stooges Collection and the documentary Keanu
    Reeves: Journey To Success.

    Fox will release Simpsons: Christmas With The Simpsons on October 14th for
    $14.98.
