I downloaded a trial version of PowerDVD 6 today and for some odd reason it
only plays video in 16 colours! My video card (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500) is
playing through a Dell 1907FP (Analog) in 1280 x 1024 mode with the highest
colour quality (32-bit). All of my games play fine in this mode and nothing
else acts weird - only PowerDVD!

    What gives??

Windows XP - but I solved it with a trip to NVIDIA.com and a check of
drivers. New updates as of 07/07. That did the trick!
