I have an older Dell computer with a Maxtor 98196H8 80 GB hard drive which
has failed. I would like to replace it with a Maxtor DiamondMax 16 Plus 9
120 GB ATA 133 drive (Maxtor # 6Y120L0). I believe the old drive was an ATA
    100. The system is a P3 850 MHZ with 512 MB of RAM running Win 2K. Will
the Diamond Plus 16 ATA 133 work in the system or is there a better way to
    go. Fred

ATA 133 is mainly a marketing ploy. There is *no* PATA drive now made
which can exceed the capability of ATA 100.
