Netbooks vs Smartbooks

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, Jul 14, 2009.

  1. "Smartbooks" are basically netbooks built around non-x86 processors like
ARM. Microsoft hasn't got a hope in hell of offering Windows for ARM, but
it's still gamely trying to pitch Windows Embedded as a serious alternative
    <http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9135452/Microsoft_aims_Windows_Embedded_at_smartbooks>.

Wait until the punters discover that, regardless of the "Windows" in the
name, none of their actual "Windows" softare will run on this crippled
platform. Remember the "Vista Capable" lawsuit? This could turn out even
    worse...
