Need Network Help

Discussion in 'Wireless Networking' started by =?Utf-8?B?c3QwY2sxbmc=?=, Apr 11, 2007.

  1. Guess I was posting this request in the wrong area.

Have a network in my home which consists of:

Dell Desktop - XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP 2
Dell Laptop - XP Media Center Version 2002 SP2
Toshiba Laptop - XP Home Version 2002 SP2

Network suddenly stopped file and print sharing.

I can ping each machine and router. Router consists of a Linksys WRT54G
v2.2 wireless router. Firmware is current.

It does not matter if the network is wired or wireless status remains the
    same.

In network neighborhood the Desktop can see the Toshiba, but cannot access
    any files on the toshiba.
-Desktop error message reads: \\Toshiba is not accessible. You might not
have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of
this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was
    not found

The Toshiba and Dell Laptop can not even access the workgroup (tried to
access using My Network Places, View workgroup computers).
    - Dell and Toshiba Laptop error message reads: 40100 (the workgroup) is
not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access
permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently
    available.

Did You Get Your Problem Fixed?

    Kevin:

I have an almost identical problem that I have been working on for far too long. The problem conditions are the same, including the connection to Wildblue!

So, did you get the problem fixed? If so, what did you do?
