    Hi!

I am getting ready to buy a new pc. Will I have to buy a new version of
Microsoft Office to go with the XP on my new pc? I own Microsoft Office
2000. I sure hate to buy MS Office XP, just because I buy a new pc. Help!

I use Office 97 with XP, so I doubt that using Office 2000 would be a
    problem.

You can use another version of Office with XP. I installed an older
version on my husband's computer because the newer version that came
with his PC wasn't working right. He has no problem with the old version.

Unless it is an OEM version and then you will have the Microsoft Police
saying it can only be installed on the original computer but then again who
will know unless you are daft enough to publish that fact on a newsgroup.
    OH! you just did.
