Modems

    My internal modem on xp has stopped working. External one is fine. I have
    checked connections, but it keeps telling me port busy or cannot detect it.

    Uninstall the modem, pull the card after the shutdown. Restart the computer
    without it. Then shut it down, and reinstall it again. If it still cannot be
    seen, then it is defective. A new modem should work for you.
