A friend baught a used computer with WinXp pro.I was trying to help him
setup some new hardware. When I click DeviceManager in System Properties I
get the message "MMC cannot open the selected file" I have searched, and
found a lot of info about mmc.exe ( but nothing to help me with this
proablem. Can some one tell me how to fix this or give me a hint of what to
look for. I have checked for the file mmc.exe in windows and both system
folders and found it, but I'm not sure that all the dll and other files are
there, or what folders they should be in. System restore didn't fix it .I
can start an empty console from run (mmc.exe) in start menu.
