mirroring ports on 2950 without 802.1q

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Olivier Thomas, Jul 7, 2003.

  1. Hi,

I am using a Cisco 2950-12 switch with 2 VLAN configured on it. I want
to mirror with SPAN protocol 2 ports (one on each VLAN) to the same
destination port. The destination port doesn't belong to any VLAN.

The result I get is that mirrored packets are all encapsulated in
802.1q protocol and I would like to get rid of this 802.1q
encapsulation. How can I make it ?

    Thanks,
    O.

This isn't currently possible to my knowledge. The word from Cisco a
few months ago was that a future IOS release would make this
configurable, but this hasn't happened yet as far as I know.
