Has anyone played with this tool? It's part of Windows Update and runs once
    a month in the background.
    Available here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

I keep my personal system free of bugs so I don't have any real reason to
play with it and at work we're behind so many firewalls and have so many
things scanning the network for bugs the I haven't need anything like this
    lately.

I use it every month. There's no reason not to. It's a one-time run (you
don't install/remove it), and it's just a little extra insurance against
common system bug-ware. To not use it would be a mistake though... no
one single software can remove all bugs, and a small, simple tool like
this can be a big step to insuring that your system is bug free. Run
it's available from Window's Update, whenever you do system updates (it
only adds a couple of seconds to the patching time).
