What does it mean when I have joined a mpg file I found on
a newsgroup and when I try to play it a box pops up and
says, "Class not registered" and it doesn't play. Is my
version 7 to old or what?

Try asking in a newsgroup appropriate to media player... This group is for
questions relating to MS exams & certification...
