Hello. I am halfway through my MCSA and was wondering about which elective
to take. I initially thought about taking 70-299, but I don't have much
security experience. I am now thinking about taking 70-228, since I have had
training on SQL (mainly 7.0). My questios are: How much SQL programming does
70-228 focus on, and with the release of SQL Server 2005, how long will this
cert be offered? Any other thoughts on the two exams would be helpful as
well. I fear that I may need to spend a lot of time preparing for 70-299,
and that the topics will be foreign to me. Thanks...

  2. The certification (MCDBA) as well as the exam 70-228 will be around for a
while yet. As for your other question the 228 exam doesn't focus completely
on programming, but if you don't understand normalizations and Transact SQL
    don't take the exam.
