    1024 Mb = 1Gb unless youre a disk manufacturer

remember bits are different to bytes ( 8 bits to a byte)

    FYI

    Google now understands questions.
Type this in a Google search: How many MB in one GB?

Herre are some capitals for you. Use as required.

    M G B H

    A lower-case "m" prefix means "milli", or one one-thousandth. A
lower-case "g" prefix means absolutely nothing; upper-case G, on the
other hand, means one billion. So mb (all lowercase) would be a
millibit, or one one-thousandth (.001) of a bit, and Gb would be a
billion (1,000,000,000) bits. To convert millibits to gigabits, you
multiply by 1,000,000,000,000. There are 1 trillion millibits in 1
    gigabit.

    Cheers,
    dan

/wondering what a millibit would be like

Wrong...they were trying to teach the person who posted the question how to
get their *own* answers...(teach a man to fish, all that crap)...so they
don't keep posting questions that are seriously lacking in useful content.

<laughing at YOU because that guy didn't need to search, but was showing the
original poster how to search for his answer>
