Does anyone know what is wrong when you send out a printing job (direct LPT1
connection) and it never turned up on the printer? And no printing job
queues in the printer either? Is it hardware problem (cable or the
    connection points)?

    Thanks.

What operating system do you use ?

Can you do a test print ?

Have you reinstalled your printer drivers ?

Does the printer have its own self test.. does that work ?

Is the printer set to be the default printer ?

Can you test the printer on another machine ?

What else can you divulge about the fault ?

    Regards

If it was a hardware problem you should get an error message that the
printer either isn't connected or turned on so it most likely is a software
    problem.

    IMHO.

If the parallel cable (assuming) is not plugged and secured on both sides,
this can happen. The handshake signals get through, but not the data.

Is your printer actually connected to LPT1? Or is it a USB printer?
