" Logitech has recognized that keyboard technology has really been pretty stagnant over the lifespan of computer technology, with the exception of adding a few buttons and media functionality. They have attempted to appeal to the PC gaming market with their G Series of gaming peripherals. Their first attempt at a keyboard revolution really does have some serious potential, but the execution is a little lacking. "

It's $79USD, about $105AUD. That's not too bad for a keyboard like that.

It's $85 USD, I have one and did a review for Think but it's taking time to get on there, so we got scooped, that sucks. I wrote the review last week. The board is freakin' amazing, I use it with LCDStudio and it kicks butt.

Would you say it's well worth the money? Compared to other high priced keyboards, you reckon it's worth it?

Dude, you would absolutly freaking LOVE this keyboard, I shit you not. If you can get one, do so. It kicks butt. I've only had one keyboard I liked more and they haven't been made since the early 90's. They were made by NEC, had a heavy metal base, nice tactile feel and they were ugly as sin but they felt perfect. This one is close to that feel with this amazingly cool LCD display and more extra keys than you could ever want plus blue backlighting, it's awesome.

You'll definatly love it, test out the feel at the store if you need to but it's also very cool. Just wish it had more support for games in the native software. But using LCDStudio with it is pretty easy.

Yep, that it is. Go get LCDStudio and the G15 driver file for it, you can find more stuff at these sites.

Had a bit of a fiddle with LCDStudio, and this is the first thing i came up with:

    Winamp Song playing data:
    Artist
    Title
    Number in playlist
    Progress bar
    Bitrate
    Time Played
    Total song length

Needed to fill some extra space, so I also stuck in Free Space on my storage drive, RAM usage and CPU load :)

Keep going, experiment with guages, animated gifs, history graphs, etc... You can make some pretty decent displays.

I was using gauges for the system stats but they are a little too big. i had a history graph for time remaining, as it updated the line moved closer to the top, the top being the end of the song.

You can resize the guages pretty much to any size and you can flip any item around, but that's mostly useful with the history graphs. Bars can be resized and flipped so you can make them read out in various ways and certain animated gifs work for things like that too. Also, one of the most useful of the tools is the mail plugin for lcdstudio, that's mainly what I use on it. I can't get the weather plugin to work though.
