Linux at NASDAQ

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, Nov 8, 2010.

  1. With all the attention on the London Stock Exchange and their move away from
Windows to Linux, here’s a network of exchanges
<http://lwn.net/Articles/411064/> which has been quietly and successfully
running on Linux for quite a while now.

And the thing is, they’re not afraid of using non-portable Linux-specific
features, in an effort to shave off another few microseconds of latency.
Speed of trading is everything. And they look forward to new features that
help in this regard, and are eager to adopt them.
