  2. You need to talk to Linksys.

First, if you read the DataSheet, WinXP x64 is not listed as being
    supported:

    Minimum Requirements
    • 400 MHz or Faster PC
    • 128 MB of RAM Memory
    • CD-ROM Drive
    • Available USB Port
    • Compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, and Vista 64-bit edition

The, if you look at the Setup program, you will see that there are no
    drivers in the XP/AMD64 folder.

The logical conclusion would be that if Linksys does not specify WinXP
x64 is supported, and, if they don't include drivers for WinXP x64, then
the probability of the item working in WinXP x64 is somewhere between
    nil and none!

Overall, it should be intuitively obvious.

  3. See http://www.decimation.com/markw/2007/12/04/wusb54gc-and-vista/.
There are Ralink drivers for x64 XP at the location referenced.
