Life of Flash Drives

Discussion in 'NZ Computing' started by Lawrence D'Oliveiro, Mar 26, 2010.

  1. Bit of a small sample, but it suggests that manufacturers’ claimed lifetimes
    are credible <http://blogs.zdnet.com/storage/?p=849>.

I still think they’d better off getting rid of the Flash Translation Layer
complexity and letting the OS directly implement flash-optimized
filesystems, instead of trying to make them look like disks and not doing a
    good job of it.
