    Hello all,
Recently my laptop (IBM ThinkPad A22m) has been shutting off for a reason
I'm not too sure off. For example, sometimes I can leave it running for a
few days without it shutting down, occasionally it has shut down right
after it boots up. At times I can be surfing online with no problem, then
all of a sudden it shuts down. The only recurring instance I see of the
shut downs is if I do anything with a lot of graphics. If I were at a
simple web page it runs fine, as soon as I go to a page with a lot of
graphics the laptop shuts down. The major unfortunate problem is I use
Photoshop and Flash on my laptop and now when I try to run either program
it shuts down. The laptop is several years old, and I'm sure it is in
need of service. Do I ship it out to the manufacture for repair? take it
to a local computer repair shop? any ideas about the shut downs, and any
opinions about local computer repair shops? Are most just experienced
with desktops and/or would it be worth the extra cost to ship to
manufacturer? Thank you for any help and suggestions.

First check is your Event viewer to see if any errors show
    there.
Next is the possibility of overheating (it`s elderly, and could
    be full of dust).

Buy a can of air blaster and blow out all the vents.
