  1. 20 years or so ago, when I was studying English at university in France we
were advised that for literary translation the Harraps English/French &
French/English Dictionary was the best as that for moden, every day English
    we should use the Collins.
Is there a dictionary that is better than most for everyday Spanish
(Castillano)/English? Had a look at the Oxford and at the Collins... could
not decide which to pick. The Collins uses proper phonetics symbols which I
    prefer.
I have one called the Vox New College which I would not recommend... seems
to be more for American College and Latin American Spanish rather than
British English and Catillano. Many colloquialism simply not in that
    edition.
Any recommendation, all the more if you teach Spanish or are currently
studying it, would be most welcome.
    Thanks
    Antoine
