Does anyone know the key used with the vendor name, serial number and vendor part on an SFP to generate the MD5 hash?

I have been buying Cisco compatible sfp's from different manufactures which allow me to send them the serial number I want to use.

I would like to know how they are generating the hash.

    Thanks

    Dave
