    Title: IT Security Operations Engineer
    Type: Full time
    Compensation: DOE Base + Benefits
    Position: The Security Operations Engineer is responsible for the
    security monitoring and incident analysis of Company managed,
    firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention equipment, security event
    correlation systems, SSL-VPN devices, and two-factor authentication
    infrastructures. In addition to monitoring and analysis,
    responsibilities include equipment configuration and implementation.
    As a member of the Security Operations Center Team, the individual
    will work with the client on accident response, notification, tracking
    and remediation.
    Key Job Functions:
    · Serve as an escalation point for peer / tier I engineers
    · Perform implementation, and support of Company Managed Security
    Services
    · Monitor SOC systems, including: HPOV, NMS, SIM, IPS management
    stations, firewall consoles, etc, determining relevancy, and accuracy
    · Perform firewall rule updates, upgrades, and patches per change
    management process
    Initiate security incident response, including tracking and recovery
    actions, and participate in incident remediation activities internally
    and with the client
    · Analyze and validate the network and host based Intrusion Detection
    and Prevention Systems to ensure they are properly configured and
    operational
    · Perform upgrades, patching and maintenance on all security devices
    and systems as required
    Assist customers in or facilitate the implementation of protective and
    mitigating security controls as required
    · Follow Incident response and problem management procedures to
    mitigate customer issues
    Perform on-call duty and the wearing and carrying of on on-call pager
    or cell phone
    · Responsible for safeguarding company information and equipment and
    reporting security breaches per the Information Security Response
    Procedure.
    Education & Experience:
    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
    Security certification strongly desired. (i.e. CISSP, CISM, CISA,
    CCNP, CCSP, GIAC etc.)
    Skills/Special Knowledge:
    · Hands-on experience monitoring and managing Intrusion Detection /
    Prevention (host and network)
    · Hands-on Firewall experience, including: Juniper/NetScreen, PIX, and
    Checkpoint (n order of importance)
    · Java, Pearl, or other language strongly desired
    · Ability to read and interpret documents such as network drawings,
    operating instructions and procedure manuals.
    · Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

    Heh.

    You know how recruiters bristle at spelling errors on resumes?

    Similarly, tech savvy folks who can't stand when recruiters post
    inappropriate content to technical newsgroups get a kick out of when
    recruiters make similar errors.

    And I'm not even going to tell him which of the 2 languages he
    misspelled--leaving it as an exercise to the reader.
