Ixus/Powershot flash query

I've just upgraded my Ixus 400 to an 850IS (in the US I think this is
called Canon PowerShot SD800 IS) - one of the features I used a lot on
the 400 was the filler flash option, which was accessible via the usual
'flash' button when in Manual Mode, and was represented by a head with
a star next to it. This option illuminated the face (or whatever) in
the foreground, leaving the background dark but with a long shutter
    effect eg: stretched lights etc.

Is there any way of easily getting something similar on the Ixus 850?
So far I can approximate it by using a low ISO setting, flash on and
long shutter, but this is time consuming compared to the ease of just
selecting it on the 400. I've only had this camera for a couple of days
but have scanned the manual with no luck.

    Any advice gratefully received. Thanks!

Won't the Night Snapshot scene do this? It's a slow shutter speed
coupled with the usual flash. I've used it OK.
