Run AT LEAST two online scanners.

I suggest that you run with a FW and good AV software and use AD-Aware or
something similar to keep the machine clean of parasites.

You should wipe the machine out and reinstall the O/S, if you have not been
    running with an AV.

If using dial-up networking, then most likely you have to logon to the ISP
and the Windows Networking may have been bounded to the connection, so that
you could login. The machine is wide open to attack as ports 137, 138 udp
and 139 tcp may have been open.

You should use your common sense and practice safe hex. You don't need to
hit the machine with a lot of crap and you should wipe the machine out.
