There seems to be a difference of opinion between the NZ Herald and
NBR in these two articles published today:

    12.09.2003
.... New Zealand development centre plans dead

Meanwhile, a suggestion by Oracle had Larry Ellison last year that he
would like to build a development centre in New Zealand seems to have
fizzled out with his America's Cup bid.

[Oracle executive vice president Chuck Phillips] told the New Zealand
Herald the idea had not developed any further.

    Auckland scores new Oracle centre

Increasing demands across the Asia Pacific region for data warehouse
and business intelligence solutions have prompted Oracle to establish
a Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Centre of Excellence as
part of its New Zealand footprint.

    To develop what?

Pie in the sky wishful thinking perhaps?

    NZ doesn't need Larry Ellison.

    One is not the other

    Which is different to

    > Increasing demands across the Asia Pacific region for data warehouse and

The latter is for more sales and sale support, the former is for core
    Oracle development work.
