Hi, I was told you can get lots of security features from a site called
www.Astalavista.com so I went and downloaded some Zipped files and when I
opened them my Norton said they contained backdoor.Trojans that it couldn't
delete? Is this common or am I just stupid? I genuinely believed that they
    were secure.

Astalavista is a crack and warez search engine. You should tread carefully.

You're just stupid. www.Astalavista.com is a crack and warez search engine.
If you want security features go to some place like Symantec or McAfee.
