    Hi

we have a set-up where a server (10.29.233.120) is sending directed
broadcasts on subnet (10.29.233.0/24) and we need to send the broadcasts to
    subnet (10.29.255.0/24).

    set-up is as follows:

    int vlan 33
    ip address 10.29.233.254 255.255.255.0
    ip helper-address 10.29.255.255
    no ip redirects
    ip nat inside

    int vlan 36
    ip address 10.29.255.254 255.255.255.0
    ip access-group 1 in
    ip directed-broadcast 101

    ip forward-protocol 8601
    ip forward-protocol 8671

    access-list 1 deny all
    access-list 101 permit udp host 10.29.233.120 any eq 8601
    access-list 101 permit udp host 10.29.233.120 any eq 8671

use a sniffer on subnet 10.29.255.0/24 we see udp 8601 and udp 8671 with
source address 10.29.233.120 and destination address 255.255.255.255.

Problem is we need the destination address to be 10.29.255.255 due to
process running on host 10.29.255.90 - how can this be done?

I thought the set-up above would have sent these udp packets to
    10.29.255.255 and not 255.255.255.255

    Any tips please

  2. Try setting the config register to use a net + ones b'cast adress,
    default is all ones.
