Firstly, I find IOMEGA's "support" services to be a complete waste of time.
I could write over a thousand words here describing my bad experiences with
IOMEGA today, but I'll spare you that - but be warned.

I purchased a new model 33632 external drive usable with eSATA or USB 2.0
connection. Not wanting to install the eSATA card, I chose to use USB. I
have Windows XP. I connected the hard drive exactly as directed for use with
USB, and placed the CD that came with it in the drive. The new hard drive
icon does not appear on My Computer as it should, and the software will not
install because "the wizard cannot find the necessary software." I tried
    several times with no success.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

If my memory is correct you need xp sp2 for usb2. If you don't have sp2
you may want to check that out.
